My name is Mayuri Chandran, and I'm a graduating medical student from the University of Michigan. Last year I was lucky to have the opportunity to live in Detroit and complete clinical rotations in the city. Through this experience I was introduced to the People’s Water Board, The Poor People’s Campaign, and other organizations advocating for water equity. I believe that there is a real role for physicians in relieving some of the burdens of home water shut offs, and I look forward to learning more from those who are already fighting for water justice about how we can best support them.
